Node

In the domain of business intelligence and data analytics, a Node is a basic unit, or point, within a larger data structure, such as a network or a data tree. Similar to how a knot can be a connection point in a net, a node in this context often represents a single point of data or a step within a process. In an organizational chart, for instance, each employee could be considered a node; when the employees have working relationships or report to each other, connections form between the nodes, creating a network that explains the structure of the organization.
