Federated Analytics

Federated Analytics is a data analysis approach that allows for insights to be gathered from different data sources or departments within an organization without having to move the data to a central location. Imagine each department in a company as a separate library. Instead of bringing all the books to one central library to see what’s available, Federated Analytics allows you to check the catalogs of each library remotely. This means you can understand the collective knowledge of the company while the actual data remains securely in its own ‘library’.

This method is particularly useful when dealing with sensitive or private information, as it reduces the need to share or duplicate data across systems. For example, a hospital might use Federated Analytics to analyze patient data across various departments to improve care, while still keeping individual health records private and in place.

Federated Analytics enables businesses to gain a comprehensive view of the organization’s data assets, facilitating better decision-making without compromising data security or privacy. It’s a way to navigate the complexity of big data spread across different silos within a company, making analytics more accessible and efficient.
